An efficient and reliable dehumidification during the construction ensures a building free from moisture
Our solutions
It is important in connection with new construction or renovation to dry out and check the humidity levels in the construction. Materials in a building contain a large amount of building humidity. Some moisture remains in the material after production. During storage at the work site, more moisture is added. A newly cast concrete slab, which has a long drying time and is often exposed to rain and snow combined with a damp wooden frame, involves large quantities of building humidity that must be dried out.
It is very important to measure the humidity ratio in joists and concrete and, where necessary, dry before continuing with the building. This is because the installation of vapour barriers and other cladding encloses the moisture, which could cause mould and rot once the building is completed.
In surveys regarding claims connected to newly built houses, it turned out that the highest proportion of faults concerned moisture damage caused by poor dehumidification during construction. With the right knowledge and right routines, dehumidification is an easy and natural part of the construction process that guarantees a rapid rate of building with the right quality.

In the case of fire, it is of the utmost importance to start the dehumidification process immediately. Corrosive smoke deposits, which are often formed in a fire, together with the high air humidity from fire fighting, have very negative effects on all types of metal surfaces and electronics. In such cases, it is necessary to ensure that the relative humidity is lowered as quickly as possible, and then it is important to have large quantities of warm, dry air with a high air throughput in the space to be dried. If there is a risk of damage to machinery or other sensitive equipment, it can be advantageous to use the plastic enclosure method in order to lower the relative humidity Rh% even faster.
Regardless of whether your problem is a small water leak or a major flood, the time factor is an important common denominator. The sooner drying measures are put into place, the greater the chance of minimising the extent of the damage and shortening the drying time. Major costs can be avoided if the drying process is started quickly and in an effective way.
Corroventa’s product range includes the CTR1000 LKV, an adsorption dehumidifier with an air-cooled condenser. Ideal for emergency response and building dehumidification since it is easy to start without any advanced installation. The machine also dries at low temperatures. In addition, it supplies the room with 3 KW of heating and is therefore particularly suitable for unheated premises. The machine is equipped with a pump that automatically pumps out the condensation water.
For large buildings with a lot of moisture that needs to be dehumidified, it is in many cases more efficient to use one large dehumidifier rather than several small ones. Corroventa’s A50TD and CTR 10 000 are two large dehumidifiers that are suitable for large new buildings or major water damage.
